Contribute to Ascendos

There are many ways for anyone interested to contribute to the Ascendos project. Any and all help is greatly appreciated and will enable the project to reach new heights.

Wiki/Documentation

This wiki is a place where anyone can enhance or contribute better documentation and information resources. Just create an account and start editing. (current anti-spam question hints: think os/yum/rpm)

QA/Testing

The DistroTesting page is where you can find out how to download our latest installers and start testing. Then you can file, search, and track bugs against them with bugzilla.ascendos.org. A first announced alpha/DeveloperPreview will be released 'real soon now(tm)' and/or 'when it's ready(tm)'. Please introduce yourself on the ascendos-dev mailinglist if you'd like, or just dive in and start filing bugs. Note that the tools and automation scripts we use to build our distro are easily and would benefit from independent testing and review as well. Please see the BuildTesting wiki page for quick start testing instructions if you interested in the build process itself.

Please introduce yourself to our community on the forum or mailinglist, and let us know what kind of resources you can offer that you think might help us. We are certainly interested in additional secondary mirrors as well as VMs or hosted server resources.

TODO: formalize a channel for monetary donations

Development

Our development wiki page will give you an overview of our systems and processes. Ascendos-dev is our development mailinglist. We are always looking for more people to start helping out and if possible be prepared to take over workloads as the project encounters the usual amount of developer turnover. Just introduce yourself, and we'll work together to best leverage the skills and time you can contribute to the project.
